Make sure to do your research when looking to adopt a Golden Retriever, or find a reputable Golden Retriever breeder so that medical issues are less likely. However, due to poor breeding, some Golden Retrievers may develop a handful of health issues. The average Golden Retriever lifespan is 10–12 years, and they’re typically healthy dogs. They make excellent therapy dogs and guide dogs for people with impaired vision. They enjoy a wide variety of activities such as running, going on long walks, retrieving, and swimming. Goldens have a moderate amount of energy, even in their senior years. So, Golden Retrievers require a lot of grooming-either at home or by a professional groomer-to keep their coats healthy. They also tend to develop matted hair behind their ears and on their hind limbs. Due to this double coat, Golden Retrievers shed a lot. This means that they have a thick undercoat of short hair covered by a layer of longer hair. No matter the color, Golden Retrievers have a double coat. But their golden fur can range in color, so you can find white Golden Retrievers to red Golden Retrievers. Golden Retrievers are known for their thick, water-repellent, lustrous golden coats. They have a broad head, short ears, deep chest, and muscular build. Their height can range from 21–24 inches tall. Golden Retrievers are medium-sized sporting dogs that weigh 55–75 pounds, with females weighing on the lower end of this range. “Goldens,” as they’re often called, make wonderful family dogs because they are great with young children and other pets when socialized from puppyhood. A well socialized pup is one of the most important things to ensure that they have a happy forever home!! Total puppy price is $3500.Golden Retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds in the United States for good reason-they are intelligent, loyal, easy to train, and very affectionate. As they get older they are exposed to different noises, other animals, water, different textures and other safe outdoor activities. They are also held by people of all ages and genders. From the time our pups are born they are exposed to stimulating age appropriate activities. Additionally, we take our time learning the needs of our customers so they are paired with the perfect pup. This means that we spend a great amount of time interacting with our puppies to learn their personalities. Our priority is to make sure our families and puppies are happy in every way. We are confident in the health of our pups and we back it up with a 1-year health guarantee. All vaccinations and parasite checks are also completed. Before the pups are sent to their new owners, they are examined by a qualified professional at a top veterinary facility for health and conformation. All our dogs and puppies are fed high quality food including home-cooked meals. We love nothing more than tending to our puppies. Our dogs also display affectionate and intelligent behavior as all Golden Retrievers should. All Clearances and needed x-rays are done to produce the healthiest puppy possible. For Conformation, we attend at least 2 shows a year and make sure our dogs are champions before they are bred. Our goal is to breed for conformation, health, and temperment. We are located on over an acre of land in Southern California. We are a small hobby breeder of only this breed. At Lucky Charm Golden Retrievers, English Cream Golden Retrievers are our specialty.
